Unity / 3D / Interaction

A creative lab for experimenting with space, narrative, and visual prototypes.

The 3D Lab brings together explorations where interface, aesthetics, and interaction become a way to tell ideas.

Context

The 3D Lab started as a personal exploration space: a Unity project where I could test interaction patterns, spatial UI concepts, and visual storytelling techniques without the constraints of a client brief or product spec. Over time, it evolved into a toolkit of reusable approaches — camera systems, shader effects, interaction handlers — that I now apply to real product work.

The experiments range from particle-based data visualization to cinematic camera rigs for product showcases, from physics-driven UI elements to environmental storytelling prototypes. Each experiment answers a question: can we make this feel more immersive without sacrificing usability?

Why This Matters

Real-time 3D is no longer a niche gaming technology. It's appearing in product configurators, spatial computing interfaces, data dashboards, and immersive web experiences. Understanding how to design for 3D space — not just 2D screens — is a capability that differentiates senior designers.

This lab demonstrates that I don't just use 3D tools — I understand the design principles behind spatial interaction: depth perception, camera behavior, occlusion cues, and the delicate balance between visual richness and cognitive load.

Visual exploration where design and technology support each other.

The 3D Lab functions as a space to experiment with immersive visuals, interaction, and concepts that can later be transferred to real products. Each prototype is documented with its design rationale, technical approach, and the specific design question it was built to answer.

The idea is to show how visual thinking can become a broader system of experience and communication. These experiments bridge the gap between traditional UI/UX design and spatial computing — a skill set increasingly valuable as Apple Vision Pro, Meta Quest, and web-based 3D reshape how users interact with digital products.

"This project demonstrates my ability to connect design, technology, and business."
